I'm Cydney one of the Co-Founders of Shere Talent, and here is my story! 

I fell into recruitment by accident, and it turned out to be the best mistake I ever made.

​

My journey started in Australia in 2013, where I took a role in recruitment simply to stay in the country. Within weeks, I realised I’d found my place. I was handed a construction desk, and it couldn’t have suited me more. I’ve always been someone who thrives on building rapport, being out and about, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Recruitment gave me permission to bring my full personality to work,  no filters, no toning it down and it’s that bubbly, outgoing, straight-talking nature that’s helped me thrive in the construction industry.

Fast-paced, people-driven, and constantly changing,  it’s everything I love.

Over the years, I discovered a real passion for understanding what people truly want from their careers, what clients genuinely need from their teams, and how both can be connected with honesty and long-term thinking. I naturally gravitated toward temp recruitment, because the pressure, speed, and quick turnaround suit the way I operate. I know what works. I lead with fairness, firmness, and respect, which is why my candidates show up, and my clients trust me.

Launching Shero Talent Consultancy was the next step. Alongside Jessican by business partner, we built the business with a simple goal: raise the standard of construction recruitment. We wanted a company with real culture, real values, and real results,  one that supports the sector with market insight, credibility, and a genuinely relationship-led approach. Today, I lead the Mechanical Division, covering Kent, Essex, and London, where we specialise in temp & perm mechanical talent across the industry.

​

Outside of work, you’ll find me playing golf, doing anything competitive, or pushing myself in sport. I’m driven by continuous improvement,  beating yesterday’s version of myself, aiming higher, and holding myself to the same standards I expect from others.

​

Recruitment has taken me from the other side of the world to Co-Founding a consultancy I’m incredibly proud of,  and I’m just getting started.

Looking ahead, my 5 year vision for Shero Talent goes far beyond recruitment. Yes, we place exceptional mechanical talent,  but our real mission is to use our platform, profits, and presence to make a meaningful difference.

Giving back to charities that support women in refuge

We want to use our success to help rebuild confidence, stability, and safety for women who need it most.

​

Funding mental health support for men and women in the construction industry

Construction is tough. High pressure, long hours, and a culture that doesn’t always encourage talking. We want to give back by supporting mental health initiatives,  especially for the tradespeople we work with every day.

Our long-term dream? To use Shero Talent’s growth to fund and build schools abroad for communities who need opportunities the most.

 

And one day… opening an animal sanctuary. A place that gives abandoned or mistreated animals a safe, loving home. A passion project we both share and one we’re determined to bring to life through the success of the business.

Our company isn’t just about filling jobs,  it’s about doing better, helping where we can, and using our journey to positively impact the world around us. We’re building a business with purpose, heart, and long-term vision… and this is only the beginning.
